Masjid Ton Son

Masjid Ton Son, also known as Ton Son Mosque, is the oldest mosque in Bangkok, Thailand, with a rich history dating back to 1688 during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Founded by Chao Phraya Ratchawangsanseni (Mahmud), it was initially a teak structure resembling a Buddhist monastery hall. Over the centuries, the mosque has undergone several renovations: during King Rama II's reign, it was converted into a brick building, and in 1952, it was reconstructed using reinforced concrete due to the deterioration of the original structure. The mosque's name, "Ton Son," meaning "pine tree," was adopted after twin pine trees were planted at its entrance during King Rama III's reign.

Masjid Bang Luang

The mosque is renowned for its unique architectural style, blending Thai, Chinese, and European elements, making it the only Thai-style mosque in the world with such a fusion. Its white-painted brick structure and ornate decorations reflect the diverse cultural influences present in the area. Situated near the Khlong Bangkok Yai canal, the mosque is part of the Kudi Khao community, an area known for its rich cultural heritage.
